Virtual Sex Will Soon Become a Reality in the Metaverse
The VR platform Dreamcam is elevating intimacy from 2D to 3D with their latest technology
A New Reality of Sex in the Metaverse
Virtual reality (VR) immerses users into a different world through a headset. The computer-generated objects and scenes allow users to feel real experiences in their virtual surroundings. By using the latest VR and livestream technology, VR users are able to encounter a live camming session like never before. By eliminating outside distractions, VR technology helps transport the user into the room of their chosen webcam model, providing a more realistic feel.
Since the February 2019 launch of the world’s first-ever ultra-immersive live adult camming, Dreamcam [NSFW], a VR webcam platform, has been looking at other ways users can experience virtual sex, and that new horizon is the metaverse.
Sex in the World of Dreamcam
The metaverse is a virtual world accessible via the internet. It’s a digital space made more lifelike by the use of virtual and augmented reality. Here you can work, play games, and soon, have virtual sex with Dreamcam’s Dreamtouch Technology.
Dreamtouch is a sex exoskeleton that enables users to have futuristic sex in the metaverse. The exoskeleton is a device that augments physical capabilities. Dreamcam is making virtual sex a reality in the metaverse through their VR gloves which activate the nerves throughout the body, thus stimulating a sexual experience. It’s also paired with a VR headset that aims to provide a realistic sensory encounter. Surprisingly, the cost isn’t extortionate. The gloves cost $299/£230 and the software $50/£38.

How Does Dreamcam’s VR Sex Work?
By using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), Dreamcam is able to analyze the coordinates of physical objects, which allows Dreamcam to replicate the sexual experience felt in the real world. However, sex in the metaverse isn’t designed to mimic sex in real life definitively. This would be impossible.
As Vice President of Dreamcam, Daniel Goldin, explained to The Sun, it’ll provide “different feelings and sensations that traditional sex cannot provide”. Based on his own personal experience, Goldin feels “it is just as good, if not better”.
Dreamcam was formed almost a decade ago and is available in over 150 countries. After realizing the opportunities in VR entertainment, Dreamcam secured $5 million in investments. Their latest invention, the Dreamtouch Sex Exoskeleton, will open new doors in the world of virtual sex. It’s part of the sex tech revolution, and with new innovative ideas being introduced, we can only imagine what the future of sex has to hold.
