Sexing Up Apple Watch: New G-Spot Vibrator Designed for Discreet Public Play

Four months after its launch, the smart watch is making sex toys buzz.

A new vibrator by Lovense can by controlled by a smart watch.

With each new piece of smart tech that hits the market, if it can be adapted for sex it will be.

Case in point: after its unveiling in April, the Apple Watch can now control the intensity of a pink G-spot vibrator named the Lush Bullet Vibe.

Sex tech company Lovense is selling the wearable device through an Indiegogo campaign, and has raised nearly 60% of its $10,000 goal in its first 11 hours. They plan to have the first batch ready to ship out in October.

Marketing Manager Eddy Olivares told Future of Sex the company has been prototyping the product for the past year, with the aim to create a vibrator couples can use discreetly in public.

“Public sex is one of most popular fantasies,” he wrote in an email, citing studies done in the United Kingdom and Australia.

“While most never dare to actually have sex in public, a lot of couples try to fulfill their fantasies using toys.”

According to Olivares, the appeal to integrate the hardware with Apple Watch was that it could make it easier for lovers to hide their frisky play than if they were using a smartphone.

Connected to Bluetooth, the system has a range of 30 feet if the wearer is in the controller’s direct line of sight. It can be significantly wider if the smart watch is hooked up to an iPhone’s wifi.

“It’s possible for your partner to control the toy from any room in the house or from across a large bar or club,” Olivares said.

He also added that Lovense interface is very basic. This is because the smart watch’s limited API gives developers little room to play with. The demonstration video above shows the Blush Bullet Vibe’s intensity being raised and lowered by pressing either plus or minus buttons on the screen display.

Lovense aims to later add hands-free control through voice and gestures, and a touch-and-slide interface similar to its smartphone app.
