Love All Things Sex Tech? Then Head to Berlin for the 2020 Sx Tech Conference

This year’s popular sex and femtech event puts entertainment, education, and health on the agenda.

The Sx Tech conference returns!

Following the success of the 2019 conference, Sx Tech will be back in 2020 with another international event, bringing together industry leaders, tech enthusiasts, and hackers for one of the biggest sex tech dates of the year. 

Taking place on Sept. 14 in Berlin, Germany, the one-day conference will be a chance to check out exciting sex tech from companies based all over the world. It will also offer the opportunity for attendees to meet business leaders and startups changing the technological landscape.

This year’s conference will feature:

• 60 speakers across sex tech and fem tech industries
• 30 sex tech and femtech startups, showcasing the latest technology and innovative business ideas
• A series of workshops, presentations, panel discussions, and product exhibitions
• 700 participants 

Crucial to the conference is networking, which is promoted so that industry specialists across a variety of fields are able to develop connections with fellow innovators from all around the world. 

Sex tech and femtech are industries that are particularly affected by stigma. This stigma, due to long-standing negative attitudes toward sex and sexuality have caused sex tech businesses to lose out on funding and even have a prestigious award rescinded (though eventually it was returned).

This issue has been credited in part with the exponential rise in sexual wellness technology, which promotes the health benefits of the technology instead of sexual pleasure. 

Networking provides the opportunity to fight this stigma by engaging with fellow businesses and entrepreneurs, providing support and creating a community of likeminded industry leaders.

The Sx Tech hackathon is back! 

An exciting part of the Sx Tech conference is the hackathon challenge. This offers participants the chance to bring together various technologies used across the sex tech industry such as VR, AI, cybersecurity, and blockchain.

It enables them to work with experts in those fields to experiment and develop potentially groundbreaking ideas and problem-solve regarding the biggest issues in sex tech today. 

This year, the hackathon is specifically looking to focus on entertainment, pleasure, education, health, and communities, in a bid to find fresh ideas and new approaches.

Participants will be put into groups to work on a product that will be pitched not only a jury but also the public, with winners announced at the end of the day. 

You don’t have to be able to code to participate in the hackathon — Sx Tech is looking for industry leaders across a range of fields with skills such as marketing, data analysis, sexology, sociology, and event management. 

The hackathon will be followed by an afterparty that will celebrate the winners and summarize the events of the day.
