VR Sex Expo Causes Massive Crowd and Chaos in Tokyo
Adult virtual reality event draws thousands—including the police.
You think your country has gotten—to put it politely—excited about virtual reality sex? Sure, there was an adult VR company at the immensely popular Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year in Los Angeles. But while Naughty America’s [NSFW] presence drew a respectable crowd, it was nothing like what happened when the Adult VR Festa opened in Akihabara, the legendary technology entertainment district of Tokyo, Japan.
Reported by RocketNews24, the “sexual virtual reality exposition” was set up in a space that could accommodate a respectable 300 people—not bad considering the frequent limitations presented by such a space-conscious venue like Tokyo.
The problem, though, is that the organizers apparently didn’t take into account the legendary Japanese enthusiasm for technology and adult entertainment: the exposition reached max capacity in only 15 minutes.
As RocketNews24 tweeted, this is one of the adult VR games being enjoyed inside the event:
NOTE: the tweet below may appear shocking (or humorous) depending on your exposure to VR sex simulations.

And this is what was happening in the very real, and incredibly crowded, street outside:

Akihabara isn’t known for its spacious streets, so an overflowing crowd of some 500 eager VR sex fans wasn’t something the district could easily handle. Eventually, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police were called in and the disappointed enthusiasts peacefully dispersed.
Fortunately, the organizers of the Adult VR Festa promised they’d be back with a new show in August. Hopefully, as RocketNews24 says, it will be in a bigger venue.
So while there are innovations happening on almost a daily basis in the world of adult VR entertainment, and everything seems to be turned on by it all, it appears the rest of the world is lagging behind Japan: possibly in technology but most definitely in excitement.
