I wish it had an option to password lock the app to keep people from sneaking a peak at what turns you on. It’s a minor quibble though, especially as other browsers also don’t support this.

Top-notch adult entertainment app with only minor issues

I spent a considerable amount of time putting VibeMate through its paces.  

Though I had some extremely minor issues with it, I think it’s a well-engineered, expertly designed piece of software. Absolutely as praise worthy as the Lovense Remote app.

Best of all, VibeMate isn’t set in stone, admitting it’s a work in progress, with more features and capabilities on the way.

The more intuitively designed interface amps up the user experience, because it was never confusing or frustrating, as many Bluetooth apps can be.

My, how things have changed!  As I mentioned in my review of their new Gush Hands-Free Stroker, it’s like Lovense has been reading my mind.

In addition to a far more pleasant interface, the new version is ridiculously fast at Bluetooth linking to their smart sex toys. Just turn one of them on, tap the plus icon at the top of the app, and quicker you can say wowzers you’re controlling it.

It doesn’t stop there because if you have a toy like the aforementioned Gush that’s built with a pair of motors, the app allows you to operate them either separately or together.

Have other Lovense devices handy?  At first, I thought, no way, no how is it 

going to let me do the same with more than one toy at once, but two was as easy as one and, lickety-split, I had a Gush and a Dolce doing a sextech tango with each other.

How to use the Lovense Remote app

One of my favorite features of the Lovense Remote App is how it automatically accesses your smartphone’s music library, letting you select whatever song you think will provide the most satisfactory beats for your Lovense sex toy to dance to. 

The main screen is also where you can sample pre-recorded vibration patterns or create your own—with tapping Discover accessing a mind-bogglingly long list of user-submitted ones.

For long-distance sexplay, you can either register with Lovense, get a username, and connect with that way or use the app’s Control Link to generate a limited-time, single-use digital key to send to whoever you want to control your toy remotely.

No end of fun

I could keep going and will. Like how you can set an alarm so your Lovense toy will wake you up in the best way possible, as well as setting it to respond to ambient noise—which could be ideal for anyone who’s especially vocal in their self-pleasuring.

There’s even an option to use your Spotify playlist with it or say “Alexa, open Lovense,” though being an Apple person, I wouldn’t know how well it does this or what you can tell a digital assistant to do.

On interactivity and the desktop version

My Macintosh and iPhone also don’t let me comment on Lovense’s other interactivity projects, like the annoying PC-exclusive fully-regendered and thoroughly interactive Wild Life Game; Mirror Life, their Virtual Sex Life Simulator; and how users can put together their own vibe patterns to accompany adult entertainment videos with their Lovense Media Player.

Sigh. Though there is a desktop iteration of Lovense Connect that’s Apple compatible, which I did download and install. Unfortunately, it seems Lovense’s amazing talent for innovation hasn’t reached it as it still retains a number of the issues I had with the previous incarnation of their smartphone app.

The measure of technology

Somewhere, and sadly I can’t tell you where I heard the highest compliment a software engineer can receive is when their programming is invisible. That is, it’s so well-designed, intuitive, and bug-free users aren’t aware they’re using it. 

Which is my tip-of-my-hat to Lovense for providing us with an app that does what it’s supposed to in a friendly, easy, and utterly pleasant way. 

If I have anything negative to say about it, it’d probably be I hope they take what they’ve done for smartphones and do the same with the rest of their games and programs. 

That and I sincerely wish a majority of adult entertainment platforms, other explicit games, etc., would recognize Lovense’s software excellence in this department and let us use Lovense Remote to get in on their interactive fun.

Until then, we’ll have to cross our fingers and toes the industry is paying attention, as sextech failing to live up to its smart potential is just plain dumb.

Build your own pleasure with this G-spot vibrator’s dual motors.

As a technologist, I’m always so curious about the inside of sex toys.

How is the motor positioned? What potential controls are available that I can’t see? Is this silicone barrier as thick as it feels?

In a previous review, I felt disappointed that a vibrator had dual motors, but I wasn’t able to control each of them. But then I received an email from Hot Octopuss. They offered to send me their latest G-spot vibrator KURVE in exchange for an honest review.

The first thing I noticed was the dual motors… and two sets of controls! So let’s get into it.

The essentials

KURVE is made primarily of silicone with ABS plastic at the base where all of the controls are. It has a classic, moderately curved dildo shape—measuring a little over 19 cm total with 12.5 cm of insertable length. 

Because the vibrator is designed for G-spot orgasms, its tip is slightly wider (4.25 cm compared to the 3.5-cm width at the shaft) and filled with soft gel. KURVE is also completely waterproof, which is a plus for me because my favorite spot to use any toy is the bath.

More on dual motors

The distinguishing feature of the KURVE is the patented dual motor Treble & Bass Technology. There are two sets of buttons at the bottom of the vibrator to control each motor. This lets you switch between intense, high-frequency waves and deep, rumbly vibrations. Or alternatively, you can turn both of them on at the same time.

Each motor individually has five speeds and you can also pair those with five different vibration patterns.

Weight and battery life were two of the concerns I had when I realized that there were two motors in this one toy. However, KURVE still holds up. The weight is only 189 grams (less than a cup of granulated sugar) and the rechargeable battery lasts over an hour even with both motors running.

Pro: There are 210 possible sensation combinations

My engineer girlfriend and I calculated that KURVE offers 210 possible combinations of the two different motors and five vibration patterns.

Most standard vibrators only have one motor (or if they do have two, you aren’t able to control them separately). Traditionally, you can choose between vibration intensity or patterns—but not both at the same time. So the ability to curate this level of customizable pleasure is major.

As someone who loves deep, rolling sensations, I gravitate towards the rumbly Bass motor. Sometimes I’ll combine it with a pulsing vibration, or just keep it consistently going at a lower speed. But I’d imagine that if you’re someone who switches between both types (or doesn’t have a strong preference), then KURVE has everything you’d need.

Con: There are 210 possible sensation combinations

I’m super indecisive generally and KURVE only exacerbated that. With so many settings and combination possibilities, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with options.

When you’re first getting used to this vibrator, it’s difficult to get set up and go quickly—especially when using it with a partner. You don’t really know what you want or what’s possible until you mess around with KURVE a bit.

Also, some of the buttons aren’t intuitive. For example, under the “plus” and “minus” buttons to control the motor speeds, there are two additional circular buttons. One controls the vibration patterns, but the other took me a while to figure out because it doesn’t do anything if you just press it. But if you hold it down for two seconds, it turns off both motors.

Great for couples with differing preferences

On traditional vibrators, the only way to change the intensity is to change the speed. But if you’re in a relationship where you prefer totally different vibration styles, changing the speed won’t do much and you might need to purchase multiple sex toys.

KURVE is a nice option if you only want to buy one vibrator, but you and your partner(s) enjoy conflicting sensations.

Overall: Worth it if you’ll actually use both motors

On the Hot Octopuss website, KURVE retails for $129.95 USD. This includes a 1-year warranty in case something happens to one of the motors.

This price is a bit steep for one vibrator, but given the possibility for customization pleasure, KURVE would be worth it if you genuinely think you’d use both motors regularly (either separately or in tandem).

This smaller sex toy delivers high-intensity vibes with “vigor.”

Have you ever looked at a sex toy and thought, how the hell am I supposed to use that?

That was more or less how I felt when I saw JimmyJane’s Form 2 Pro for the first time. 

My girlfriend and I stared at the company website, perplexed, and debated what we thought it looked like. Pinchers from a crab? Ears of a rabbit? Tuning fork?

Flip it over and it kind of looks like a character from Among Us?

Regardless, when JimmyJane offered to send the Form 2 Pro in exchange for an honest review, I was excited to try this “clitorial stimulation vibrator.” While the JimmyJane website says it can be used by anyone, I’ll be covering it from the perspective of a vulva-haver.

The vibe’s basics

The Form 2 Pro is a hand-held vibrator made from silicone and ABS plastic. The motors are tucked into a bulbous base with protruding buttons to control the different vibration and intensity levels. Two flexible silicone prongs make up the rest of the length and provide targeted pleasure.

It measures in at 7.5cm long by 4.5 cm and weighs a little less than an AirPods case. It’s waterproof and even comes equipped with a travel lock so it doesn’t randomly go off in your carry-on. 

I’ve never tried the original Form 2, but according to other reviews, there are some notable differences including a more powerful motor and a redesigned magnetic charging cord. Instead of the previous blue-grey color, the Form 2 Pro is also available in black.

The shape of your vulva can affect your experience 

Designed to “pinch and tease your clitoris,” the prongs of the Form 2 Pro are meant to sit squarely around your clitoris for direct, high-intensity vibrations. This works well, if your body allows for it.

Some people have larger inner or outer labia than others. When your inner labia protrudes further than your outer labia, this can be called an “outie.” The inverse is considered an ‘innie.’ All of these shapes are completely normal and beautiful in their own right, but the outie wins with the Form 2 Pro. 

Having an outie can make it easier to wrap the vibrator’s prongs around your clitoris. You can still find the right placement with an innie, but speaking from personal experience, it’s more difficult.

That said, the Form 2 Pro can be used elsewhere beyond your vulva. I enjoyed taking the vibrator into the bath with me and running its prongs along the contours of my neck, shoulders and torso. 

The motors are powerful 

As a technologist, I was intrigued when I read about the Form 2 Pro’s dual motors. Unfortunately, you can’t control the motors separately, but it’s a much stronger overall sensation compared to other vibrators I’ve used. When turning it on the first time, I’ll admit I was a little intimidated by this smaller toy’s vigor. 

Even if you can’t control the individual motors, the Form 2 Pro is still fairly customizable. It has five varying vibration modes, each available at five different intensity levels. Among these modes are both a pulsing and vacillating pattern. 

All of the vibrations are high-frequency, intense, and buzzy. So if you’re a fan of slower, rumbly sensations, this wouldn’t be the right sex toy for you. 

But the price is steep

The Form 2 Pro normally retails for $170, but at the time of publishing it is on sale for $136.

While this three-digit price tag isn’t unheard of in the sex tech industry, it’s definitely an investment for a vibrator. JimmyJane does offer a 1-year warranty though as part of the price in case anything happens to the motors. 

Overall: Not a toy for everyone 

This vibrator offers fast-paced, targeted pleasure through two powerful built-in motors, thoughtfully shaped silicone and a selection of vibration modes. 

As someone with an innie who strongly prefers rumbly sensations, the Form 2 Pro isn’t a toy that I’d personally gravitate towards.  

However, if you can afford the higher price tag and favors intense, buzzy vibrations—the Form 2 Pro could be worth the splurge.

Gone is getting the hardware to talk to the software, making me want to tear out what little remains of my hair—and what I get after that wonderfully-brief Bluetooth connection between a toy like the Gush and the Lovense Remote is nothing short of amazing.

For instance, the app automatically syncs to your smartphone or computer’s music library so the juicy rhythms of your favorite tunes can get matched by your Gush—with the same true for any ambient sounds that might happen to be in your immediate environment.

And old favorites are still there, like the ability to create and share customized vibrational playlists, the option for someone to control the Gush or link any number of Lovense toys together with it for a variety of long-distance, teledildonic sexual experiences.

Walking on the Wild Life

But Lovense has more sex tech wonders to offer, with products like their Gush helping to lead the way.

At the forefront is the upcoming Wild Life game.
