VR, AR, and Back Again: Innovative Tech Reveals the Future of Adult Entertainment
Unique project marks a huge step in human-AI erotic collaboration
Award-winning Japanese adult video director, photographer, and cutting-edge sextech pioneer Turbo Kougo has developed a revolutionary new approach to viewing and interacting with VR adult content.
For the first time, his AIAV script for the popular Unity game engine allows users to seamlessly toggle between watching explicit videos in fully immersive virtual reality or with the performer superimposed over their immediate environment via augmented reality.
Kougo’s software not only doubles the users’ erotic possibilities but might become a must-have feature for all VR/AR platforms, especially—nes interested in providing their customers with high-quality, sexuality-based content.
But what’s even more fascinating about Kougo’s project is who—or rather what—helped him develop it.
A little help—
Inspired by films like Spike Jonze’s Her and his 20-year career in Japan’s adult entertainment industry, Kougo began by experimenting with large machine learning models like ChatGPT and image generation systems such as Stable Diffusion and Midjourney.
During all this, a casual prompt resulted in what would prove to be a synergistic milestone, which after Kougo developed further would eventually become his AIAV project.
As Kougo said in an interview, “This experience convinced me that by collaborating with AI, I could achieve new forms of sexual expression that I could not imagine on my own.”
In the case of AIAV, a way to bridge the gap between virtual and augmented reality, “—a system that allows users to freely switch between AR and VR content with just the push of a button on the HMD controller and compensating for the shortcomings of both AR and VR.”
Two minds working together
There was just one relatively small setback, for Kougo, with all of his considerable achievements, including his well-earned status as one of Japan’s top 100 filmmakers,” unfortunately lacked the necessary programming skills to make AIAV a reality.
Though his AI collaborators did, as he explained, “I communicated my development ideas to ChatGPT in Japanese and repeated trial and error for about three months. As a result, a perfect script was completed, and I successfully developed the system without anyone’s help.”
Making headway
With coding now out of the way, Kougo proceeded to hire Hikaru Minazuki, who’s frequently dubbed the cutest adult performer in Japan as his first AIAV model.
“I cast her because she is someone I can respect as a woman. I believe that excellent data produces excellent generative AI content,” Kougo says.
After scanning her body, physical and facial movements, vocal patterns, and everything else about her, Kougo fed her data into a generative AI system that quickly produced a digitized, extremely realistic version of her.
Addressing the current controversy regarding AI-created images and videos, Kougo noted, “When synthesizers were invented, many musicians opposed machine-made music, claiming it was inferior to human-made music. However, Haruomi Hosono, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Yukihiro Takahashi’s synthesizer unit, YMO, strongly advocated the innovation of synthesizer music and pointed out the limitations of human-only music.”
Kougo went on to say, “As a result, YMO laid the foundation for electronic music, connecting to current electronic dance music (EDM) and Hip Hop. The current criticism of generative AI is the same type of criticism faced by synthesizers, which is outdated and irrelevant.”
Experience the future of adult entertainment

While you’re waiting to see for yourself why Kougo’s novel approach to virtual and augmented reality experiences could be what the sextech industry’s been waiting for, you can also ask yourself what other mind-blowing erotic technologies may be right around the corner.
Particularly when inventive people like Turbo Kougo work with and not against today’s frankly mind-blowing advanced AI systems.
Or, to put it another way, isn’t it always better to treat others, even artificial intelligences, as partners rather than as adversaries?
